Before the internet engulfed the real world and eliminated time and space, this mix was only available in Japan.

Printer’s Marks Colophons
Bruce Black has an enormous collection of scanned colophons from the 1940’s & 50’s on his website. Each of these marks utilizes a limited color palette and overall shape simplicity. I particularly appreciate the “common” aesthetic found in these marks. They weren’t created to be pretentious or high-end, but to appeal to the average reader who is simply looking for entertainment.

Photos Of The Simple Tote Bag
Here are a few photos of one of the new bags we will be releasing in our next update. The simple tote is a large chamber canvas tote bag, with vegetable tanned leather straps and trim, a side pocket for a phone or an Ipod, and a key organizer. Be on the look out for this as well as other new bags from us shortly.

Case Bloom North To South Volume 1
I'm in San Juan Del Sur Nicaragua this week, and so this feels like a fitting repost. Hope you enjoy
-Case
My father is really heavy into Jazz. My childhood is peppered with Latin jazz, and the fragrant smell of leather in our home. I remember listening to Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto bored stiff. I didn’t really understand how this music was shaping my taste until at the age of thirteen I discovered hip hop. It became a sort of lens for me to examine the rest of the musical world through, and the use of sampling became a fixation. I was always intrigued to hear how my favorite producers would take a dusty old snippet, flip it, and make it new again. My favorite sounds were always those familiar jazz rifts I heard at home. As an adult I began to seek out those records, rediscover the music I grew up with and expand my musical horizons. This mix is about a lot of things for me. I look at my musical taste and how it has changed throughout the years. I look at the partnering of my father and I to establish our bag company, Tucker & Bloom. To me it’s as much about the journey in life as where you are going, even if you can’t smell the leather all the time. -Case Bloom

Eastern European Matchbook Labels
Maraid has quite an array of vintage matchbook labels from Eastern Europe on Flickr. It’s fascinating to see the effects created by the bleeding inks and the unpredictable registration associated with printed materials of this scale.
